Inside-Out Sports Weekly Monday Gravel Rides

We love riding. We love riding in general but we specifically love gravel riding. And the fact that we have Umstead Park in close proximity makes this awesome type of riding easily accessible to all in the Triangle. As a result, we are continuing our Monday gravel ride throughout the Winter but changing it to lunchtime. The ride will remain a recovery/social ride in more or less the same format and distance.

  • When: Mondays at 11:30 am,
  • Where: Rides will be starting from the Old Reedy Creek Road Trail Head, by Lake Crabtree. This parking lot is accessible via Old Reedy Creek Road from Weston Parkway (see map below). Parking and bathrooms are available.
  • Distance: Approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, with distance ranging from 15 – 25 miles.
  • Course: Courses will vary according to the group's ability and desire but they will be geared to the intermediate gravel rider (or those looking for a social recovery ride). Remember that Umstead Park is hilly.
  • Level: Intermediate

Additional information:

This will continue to be a no drop ride and we will regroup in different spots if necessary. However, gravel bikes and clipless pedals are strongly encouraged. There should be no reckless riding and runners and other riders using the park are to be respected.
